Meshell Ndegeocello has just released a new album on June 3! "Comet, Come To Me' on Naive Records. Her debut album on Maverick was in 1993 "Plantation Lullabies" and we hear "I'm Diggin' You (Like an Old Soul Record)" and "Step Into the Projects". The following year she recorded a track for the AIDS benefit Red Hot Organization with Herbie Hancock "Nocturnal Sunshine" from Stolen Moments: Red Hot and Cool. In 1995 she sang with bass player Marcus Miller on "Rush Over" from Tales on PRA Records. Her biggest commercial success was with John Mellencamp "Wild Night" composed by Van Morrison from Dance Naked on Mercury in 1996. In 1997 she played bass with The Rolling Stones on "Saint of Me" composed by Jagger/Richards from Bridges to Babylon on VIRGIN. We end our program with another track from her recent album "Modern Time". She's on tour now in support of the music. She is in her mid 40's and at the height of her abilities.
