Milton Nascimento, Brazilian singer-songwriter, James Taylor, Paul Simon

Born in 1942 in Rio de Janeiro, Milton has recorded over 40 albums to date, including collaborations with James Taylor and Paul Simon. His 1997 self-titled album won the Grammy Award for World Music Album of the year. We also hear songs from the Clube da Esquina (Club on the Corner) in Portuguese, featuring Milton and other artists from the movement combining rock styles with jazz influenced Brazilian rhythms and lyrical poetry. He is known for his beautiful falsetto voice and expressive singing. We hear his collaboration with James Taylor in 1985 on the song "Only a Dream in Rio". Milton co-wrote a song with Paul Simon on the 1990 Rhythm of the Saints album called "Spirit Voices" and performs on the album.
